Troma Now! Short Films

In 2018 in Hollywood, California (around the same time I began my stand-up comedy journey) I applied to work as a production assistant on a film entitled “Sister Mercy” directed by William Boodell… the same guy who edited Sharknado! He basically declined, stating that I didn’t have enough experience in the film industry. I immediately purchased Lloyd Kaufman’s book “Make Your Own Damn Movie!” and got to work creating my first ever short film “Shower Sharks” and printed a few copies on DVD. I returned to the director and showed him my work and got the production assistant gig. Score! During my downtime while working on “Sister Mercy” I filmed behind-the-scenes footage which would become the mockumentary “Murderous Grapefruit”, my second-ever short film. At the time I was working on the film I was sleeping in my car a lot and performing at places like The World Famous Comedy Store. In March of 2022 I met Lloyd Kaufman at a Horror Swap in Dallas, Texas and told him the story and showed him a copy of the “Shower Sharks” DVD. He signed my copy of his book and gave me his card and asked me to submit my films. I later signed a deal to release my 2 Troma-inspired short films to Troma Entertainment and secured distribution through Troma NOW!

P.S. Both films are horribly ridiculous and really just part of one big inside joke HAHA but they are inextricably linked
