Swimming with Sharks Gets Chaotic in Dallas

Swimming with Sharks kicked off 2024 with more than two and a half hours of live stand-up comedy, audience interaction and organized chaos from Dallas, Texas. Recorded LIVE at Shark’s Comedy Club in Dallas, Texas.
Hosted by Dallas comedian Noah “Shark” Robertson with co-host Greasy Gordo, Swimming with Sharks takes the traditional comedy open mic and deliberately makes it unpredictable. Comedians perform their material, but the hosts may interact with their sets, trigger sound effects, introduce unexpected characters or otherwise force performers to deal with distractions.
The idea is partly entertainment and partly trial by fire. As Robertson explains at the beginning of the episode, performing in unpredictable conditions can prepare comedians for rowdy bars, difficult crowds and the countless things that can go wrong during a live stand-up performance.
The Briefcase of Destiny
One of the show’s recurring features is the Briefcase of Destiny, a collection of random topics comedians can pull and attempt to make funny on the spot. A secret compartment contains additional challenges for performers willing to take the bit even further.
That combination of prepared stand-up and unpredictable challenges gives Swimming with Sharks its late-night-show-meets-comedy-open-mic format.
A Huge Night of Dallas Comedy
The episode moves through a large lineup of comedians from the Dallas-Fort Worth comedy scene, with sets and appearances from performers including Steady Eddie Trevino, Cooper Patterson, Bill King, Rudy Ventura, Nathan Beeman, Miles Francis, Nick Flint, Thomas Gunter, Jose Garcia, Christopher Morales, Scott Lorenzo, Melissa Riggs and many more.
Along the way, a bachelorette party becomes part of the show, comics take on the Briefcase of Destiny, the hosts discuss roast battles, and the night gets progressively more unpredictable.
